Barefoot in the Park original movie poster for Gene Sak’s Oscar nominated romantic comedy with Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. The movie poster design was created by Stanislav Vajce. Stanislav Vajce is a Czech painter, book illustrator and poster designer currently living in German where he emigrated in 1987. During 1959 – 1963 Stanislav Vajce studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague. Primarily a painter, but during 60s and 70s created over twenty film posters for Czechoslovakian and foreign movies. His painterly training is clearly evident on all his posters designs and his visual language is mainly based on collage accompanied by soft palette and collection of individual symbols.

Movie posters in our collection were promotional materials. Posters used on display in the cinemas across the former Czechoslovakia. They bear signs of their age.
