Beautiful movie poster created for Dušan Hanák’s love story about gypsy girl Jolanka and village postman Jakub. The movie poster based on a minimalist collage and a slight distortion of one the most recognised scene of Czechoslovak filmography.
Milan Grygar was Czechoslovak audiovisual artist, painter and musician. Grygar’s main passion re-occurring throughout his life was the relationship between the drawing and the sound. He has been also very active as a graphic artist and has designed over hundred movie posters and illustrated numerous books. Influenced by the post war neo Avant-garde tendencies and music, his great poster designs are a pride of every collection.
Poster has been previously folded. Slight crease on edges and fold. Pinholes and gentle folds in corners. Poster is in A3 format (40.4 x 28.3 cm). Very nice condition.
